Army Pfc. Pendelton L. Sykes II, 25, of Chesapeake, Va.; assigned to the 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, 12th Aviation Brigade, Giebelstadt, Germany; killed April 6 when the CH-47 helicopter in which he was riding crashed in Ghazni, Afghanistan. Fifteen service members were killed or are unaccounted for in the crash. He is survived by his wife, Gina Sykes, his parents, and many other family members in Chesapeake.
